HCPC Revised Guidance on Health and Character
The HCPC Revised Guidance on Health and Character is Released
The HCPC has recently issued new guidance on health and character of those applying to the register or those already registered.
As the regulator for a number of professions practising within health and social care, the HCPC check the health and character of everyone who applies to join the register. The HCPC can also take action if concerns are raised about a registrant’s health or character and their ability to practise safely. The HCPC standards of conduct, performance and ethics include the requirement to make changes to how you practise if your physical or mental health could put someone at risk.

Many people are also unsure about declaring driving convictions or cautions. Often the Panel are more concerned with the type of sentence you were given. It is rare for most driving offences to affect registration but you should declare them. You do not need to declare fixed penalty notices for motoring offences such as speeding.
