Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service (HCPTS) finds no case to answer for Kings View client.

In this case, R, approached Kings View feeling they did not get a fair hearing in their workplace and was concerned that the same would happen before the HCPTS.

HCPC defence barrister, Catherine Stock, said:

“This case was won by homing in on the fine detail of what was actually recorded in patient records and by working with the registrant to enable her to explain her position both to us and before the Panel.

“This registrant had used non specialist lawyers at an earlier stage, and this had in part led to the case progressing to a Tribunal.”

The outcome was no case to answer for all but one allegation, which means R did not have to give evidence as these allegations were thrown out at the close of the regulator’s case and the remaining allegation was found not proved.

Catherine continued:

“It is so important to obtain legal advice from specialist lawyers in healthcare regulation and specifically before the HCPC.”

R, speaking at the conclusion of their case, said:

“I contacted Catherine for initial advice regarding an HCPC referral for a number of allegations. This first conversation reassured me that I would like to instruct her to take on my case – from the offset, Catherine was approachable, measured and knowledgeable with her medical background & regulatory experience.

“Catherine is a direct access barrister offering a fixed fee – there are no extra hidden costs, which meant I knew exactly where I stood financially. She has gone over & beyond to help me prepare for my case, which has been ongoing for over 2 years – her attention to detail is amazing & I can say that she knew my case inside out.

“As a result, at the final substantive hearing facing 4 serious allegations, I have been able to walk away free to practice with no misconduct or impairment found. This was the best Christmas present ever & a huge cloud that has been over me for the best part of 3 years has now been lifted & justice served! 10/10.”
